How To Make Money With Print On Demand

Have you ever heard about Print on Demand, but don’t know where to start?

Print on Demand is an awesome way to earn an income online. It’s fun, lucrative, and the best part fits like a groove into your drop shipping store. But, of course, there is a slight catch, like finding the RIGHT designs.

Most offer a wide variety of T-shirts designs, manufacturers and fabric. This is in addition to even more apparel items like hats, hoodies, jackets, and tank tops. The list doesn’t just end there. They may also offer options to print onto pillows, shoes, phone cases, socks, Leggings, even backpacks.

This is the part most people fail at, and the most important if you want to make money with Print on Demand. That’s why in this post you will learn about how to target the right products, and where to find them.

1. Target a niche

This is the most important. Finding your own passion niche by crossing two passion niches together. This is similar to Dropshipping. Only difference being that instead of picking one niche, you combine two niches together.

This is really important: Combining TWO niches together. The “twist” (mixing two niches) is what wins your customer over, which is why it’s super important to nail this part. You want people to feel like your products and designs speak to them and embody them in a unique way that they haven’t seen before. That will be what motivates them to take their credit card.

The key isn’t randomly putting two designs on a shirt: It’s triggering emotion. RAW emotion. That is how to get people to buy from you.

2. Pick a Print on Demand Website

As you already know, you have to sell your designs somewhere, so you need to pick a print on demand service where you can publish your t-shirts or other pieces of clothing.

The most popular and well known print on demand website service is Teespring. Here, you can make your free account and start your online store. You can choose your clothing piece, put the design into it and publish it in your store, where a lot of people can see your design and order it. The very good thing about Teespring is that, they can do marketing for you and you will need to give them a small commission fee from the earned amount.

Another very good and the most famous print on demand website service is Merch by Amazon. Here, Merch by Amazon is the "notorious" between print on demand services because they don't accept sellers/designers really easy and you need to be really persistent if you want to become their seller. The process is the same, you can make free account and set up your online store where you can sell your t-shirts or other clothing pieces.

Redbubble is also the most popular print on demand website service. Here, the process of setting up your online store is the same. You can make your free account and set up your online store where you can sell your print on demand pieces and designs such as t-shirts, hoodies, thank-tops, caps, mugs, socks, pillows and similar. Redbubble will do all the marketing for you with the same method as Merch by Amazon and Teespring.

There are a lot of print on demand websites. Pick your right one and start selling!

3. Upload HD designs

A low quality image is the last thing a customer will want to see on their shirt. To avoid this, make sure your image is uploaded as a PNG file, and its uploaded in 300 dpi.

Avoid pictures with colored background. This disrupts the printing process and makes your design come out messy. You can print more than just shirts. Don’t be afraid to experiment on other things like: Wine glasses, blankets, clocks and even shower curtains.

Buy the right image license. You can’t just use the standard image license when purchasing images on Shutterstock to resell by printing them on products. Purchase the ENHANCED image license.

So, if you want to own a designs that will be catchy and attractive for your visitors and customers, be sure that they look really good and have a high quality!

4. Make a designs for your audience

The next thing you need to do is to come up with a design for that audience. This is where it gets a bit tricky and confusing for many, but do not worry, it doesn’t have to be. To get great designs, you can either design them yourself or hire a designer.

If you have some idea of what looks good and what doesn’t, I would suggest trying designing something yourself. You can do it with using the free designing software called Canva.com. All was done for free on Canva so this is a tool that you need to have. Here you can design what you want for free, including:

- Logo designs

- Text manipulations

- Instagram post

- Facebook post

- Etsy post

- YouTube thumbnail

- Posters/Flyers/Brochures/Business cards

- And many other.

You can use and free designing mobile apps, like Typorama, Swagbucks, Custom Ink and similar and create something stylish for your online store to attract your customers and visitors.

Another great thing to make a catchy designs for your online store is to hire a designer, and you are looking at around $50 per design if it’s a designer worth his salt. If you have a budget, then go with hiring a designer as the level of skill will be noticeable (although not as much as you think) but if you do not afford a designer, then using the first option Canva is enough to start making money with Print on Demand.

5. Promoting your designs

One last thing I want to mention is Facebook Ads, which are the best way to start getting traffic and sales to your online store.

This is a massive topic in itself and there is a lot to learn so here are some great videos you should see to understand better how to promote print in-demand products on Facebook.

Do not skip these lessons as you will be making a mistake.

Remember, you will be spending money on Facebook Ads so just make sure you are spending them wisely. Can you promote your store for free? Yes absolutely!

You can make your social media accounts and transfer the audience to your online store. For example, you can make an Instagram page where you will upload pictures from your designs. That way, your audience will be in touch to your store and they can easily click the link in your bio where you will pin your online store.

Another good way to promote your online store is by Pinterest. Here, you can also upload a pictures from your designs and let your visitors to click on the pictures. After that, they will be transferred to your online store and the chances to buy from you will be really high.

The same procedure is with YouTube. If you have a channel for fasion, clothing, designs and similar, you can post the link down in the description section and your subscribers or visitors can easily click the link which will transfer them to your online store.
